or three months Gabrielle and Joseph talked before ever meeting. And even after Joseph pulled up in front of Gabrielle's house with a 20 ft. stock trailer filled with cattle behind him, Gabrielle agreed to go grab dinner with him. My favorite story of theirs, however, is probably the story of the proposal.
It doesn't start like most engagement stories. Joseph had taken Gabrielle on a vacation to California where he was planning to propose. But then they found themselves at a police station because their car was broken into while visiting Golden Gate State Park. As Joseph is reporting the missing property, Gabrielle overhears the police woman asking for the serial numbers on the laptop... and the ring.
When I asked them for their favorite memories as a couple they both mentioned that vacation to California, proving that love doesn't depend on perfect circumstances. Joseph ended up asking her to marry him in the same fashion her grandfather asked her grandmother to marry him 66 years ago. "Do you wanna be stuck with me for the rest of our lives?"
On a sunny afternoon in July, I got to see these two marry. And it went off without a hitch... or cattle.
